  • I'm the owners' daughter. My parents owned a business together from the time I was 7. I started working there very early on, mostly in the front helping
  • with pick up orders. I would say once every couple months someone would come in and claim they knew my parents. I would quiz them on where they
  • met my parents and be like, "oh! We're long time friends." Bull. My parents are always working so I knew the truth was they had no friends! My favorite was claiming
  • they knew my parents but said my mom's name wrong. That's when I dropped the "Oh! You mean (my mom's name)? I'm her daughter!" The look of horror.
  • These folks were always looking for a discount. They tried the wrong kid...
  • Over_Smile9733 I used to use, 'oh, you know the owner 'Fred'?' They say yes, I follow up with Fred d d 2 years ago. I am is daughter and own this business now. Bye Bye, don't want your business.
  • Ulquiorra1312 I used to have people come in claiming to be their daughter Rosie I'm their daughter Rosie
  • _wildwing_ My mom answered the phones, among a million other duties, at my dad's (Mr. GA Smith) business. One day, gets a call and the ask to speak to my dad. "What is this in regards to?" asks my mom.
  • "Oh, I'm a good friend of Mr. Gasmith!" She was laughing so hard, she missed the cradle hanging up the phone.
  • curlyfall78 My grandparents owned a feed mill and small town so they knew everyone and everyone knew them. We seldom had to deal with this
  • type of thing but I once had a guy try to get me to let him have extra stuff for free and I was like "no was told to load 4 bags so that's it" he was still trying so I just yelled
  • "mom he wants more feed but don't want to pay" well here comes my mom but mamaw came out of her office yelled at him "you got what you asked and paid for now git
  • and if you ever try that again you will have to find somewhere else to get feed and I will be talking to your wife as soon as I sit back down and your mom at
  • church" he started apologizing and like a 5yr old that knows the whooping in coming begged her not to mention it to his mom. This was a grown a man in his 40s at the time.
  • Pale_Disaster Last place I worked, the owners were there pretty regularly, they I even had a flat above the cafe. So, a lot of people actually DID know the owners. But none of
  • them mention it because I'm there all the time. And we still had people try to claim they knew the owner, trying for a discount or free food. All it took
  • was to mention names and they'd not know who tf I was talking about. The number of times I offered to call for them, happy to oblige their request, was incredible to see their faces fall.
  • FrequentWay. The fun parts are the liars trapped in their lies. Next would be the unexpected hugs and jumping into their lap as they are supposedly your dad's best friend and they been at your parent's house enough times to know their kids.
